Huron County Jail Roster
The official county-level lookup is the Huron County Jail current roster, linked from the sheriff's jail and visitation page. The Huron County Sheriff's Office is led by Sheriff Todd J. Corbin. The roster inspected during research was a live print-style HTML report, not a form with a last-name box. It carried the heading "New Inmate Roster HURON COUNTY" and displayed a run date and time. That timestamp matters because it is the public freshness marker for the Huron County inmate record shown in the roster.
The Huron County jail roster is for local jail custody. It may include adults arrested by the Huron County Sheriff's Office or local police agencies, pretrial detainees, people serving local sentences, and people waiting on Huron County courts. It is not the statewide prison list, and it is not a federal detainee search. If a person was sentenced to an Ohio prison, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Offender Search is the right channel. If the case is federal or immigration-related, the BOP or ICE systems are separate from Huron County.
The roster screenshot comes from the official sheriff roster page. It shows the local report format, including the run date, photo column, charge rows, disposition, and bail fields.

Use Huron County Inmate Records
Because the Huron County roster is a report, the lookup process is closer to reviewing a current list than running a database search. Start with the official roster, check its timestamp, and then compare names against the charge and court rows. Common names need extra care because the public table may include middle names, booking dates, SID numbers, court names, and next court dates, but it does not expose every intake field.
- Open the sheriff jail page and choose the current roster link, or open the Huron County Jail roster directly.
- Check the run date and time at the top of the report. A recent arrest may not appear until the roster has been refreshed.
- Use the browser find function for the last name, then scroll the roster sections if the name is common or misspelled.
- Compare the full name, booking date, court, current disposition, bail, and arresting agency before treating the entry as the right person.
- Read all charge rows under the same jail ID. One Huron County inmate record can have more than one charge, disposition, bail line, or court setting.
- If the person is missing, call the jail, check court records, search ODRC for prison custody, and use BOP or ICE only when the facts point to federal or immigration custody.
Huron County Roster Fields
The official Huron County inmate roster does not publish a search form. The field table below therefore lists the public roster columns and subfields that a user can review after opening the report. These are not data-entry boxes. They are the labels visible on the county jail record itself.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jail ID | Roster column | n/a | Numeric local jail identifier for the custody entry. |
| Photo | Embedded image column | n/a | Booking photo shown on the public roster for visible sample entries. |
| Name | Roster column | n/a | Displayed in last-name, first-name, middle-name style. |
| Charges | Roster column | n/a | Charge labels may appear in multiple rows under one person. |
| Court | Roster column | n/a | Shows the court tied to the charge row when listed. |
| Current Disposition | Roster column | n/a | Observed values include Continued, Sentenced, and plea-related terms. |
| Total Bail | Roster column | n/a | Displayed per charge row, including zero-dollar entries. |
| SID# | Subfield | n/a | State identification number if present. |
| Book Date | Subfield | n/a | Date booked into the Huron County Jail. |
| Next Court Date | Subfield | n/a | Date and time if a court event is listed. |
| Arresting Agency | Subfield | n/a | Agency that arrested or lodged the person. |
| Release Date | Subfield | n/a | Blank for some active entries or listed when known. |
Huron County Inmate Profile
A Huron County inmate record should be read as a custody snapshot. The jail roster can show the person, the charge rows, and the next known court event, but it does not prove conviction. A charge is an accusation or custody basis. A disposition row is a status or outcome tied to that charge row. Bail is a release amount or condition shown by the roster, but another hold or court order can still block release.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Jail ID | Local identifier assigned to the jail custody record. |
| Photo | Booking photograph displayed next to the roster entry while the record is public on the current roster. |
| Name | Inmate name as printed in the sheriff roster. |
| Charges | Arrest or custody charge labels, one row per listed charge. |
| Court | Court connected to that charge row, such as a Huron County court when listed. |
| Current Disposition | Current charge or case status term, such as continued or sentenced. |
| Total Bail | Bail amount shown for the charge row, subject to court and jail verification. |
| SID# | State identification number if present in the record. |
| Book Date | Date the person was booked into the Huron County Jail. |
| Attorney | Attorney field; it may be blank on public roster rows. |
| Next Court Date | Scheduled hearing date and time when the roster includes one. |
| Release Date | Known or scheduled release date if shown; blank does not explain why the person remains held. |
The inspected roster did not show date of birth, address, race, height, weight, housing unit, cell location, warrant number, or statute code. Those limits are useful. They help separate the public Huron County jail roster from a full booking file, court docket, or law-enforcement report.
Huron County Access Chain
The full Huron County inmate records chain starts online but does not end there. The public roster is the first stop for current jail custody. The jail phone line is the next step for time-sensitive status, visitation, or a recent arrest that has not appeared online. The sheriff's Civil Office is the records fallback for sheriff-held reports and accident reports, and Ohio public-records law applies to existing public records unless an exemption or redaction rule limits release.
| Need | Use This Channel | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Current local custody | Huron County Jail roster | Best first stop for current local inmates, photos, charges, bail, and court dates. |
| Fast custody or visit question | Jail line, 419-668-1996 | Use when the roster may lag, a visit is scheduled, or release status is time-sensitive. |
| Sheriff-held reports | Sheriff Civil Office | Official local path noted for police reports and accident reports. |
| Custody notifications | Ohio VINE | Notification layer for custody or case changes where available. |
| Sentenced Ohio prison custody | ODRC Offender Search | Covers Ohio prison, supervision, release, judicial release, and violator-at-large records. |
| Federal sentence | BOP inmate locator | Federal locator for inmates from 1982 to present. |
| Immigration detention | ICE detainee locator | Separate immigration custody search, not a county jail roster. |
No official Huron County Sheriff's Office app was found in the sheriff site links during the research pass. Ohio VINEMobile is available through the statewide VINE program for notification use, but it should not be treated as a Huron County roster app.
County Jail, ODRC, BOP, ICE
Most lookup mistakes come from using the wrong system. The Huron County Jail is a full-service local jail. It holds local pretrial detainees, people serving local sentences, and people awaiting court or transfer. ODRC is the Ohio state prison system for sentenced prison custody and supervision records. BOP is federal. ICE is immigration detention. VINE is a notification system and does not replace any of those source records.
| Custody Type | Where to Look | What It Does Not Do |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or local sentence in Huron County | Huron County Jail roster and jail phone line | Does not list Ohio prison inmates after transfer. |
| Sentenced Ohio prison or supervision | ODRC Offender Search | Does not show Huron County jail booking photos or current local jail rows. |
| Federal sentenced inmate | BOP inmate locator | May not show federal pretrial custody before BOP commitment. |
| Immigration detainee | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | Does not function as a court docket or mugshot gallery. |
Huron County Jail Contact
Official Huron County and state correctional sources identify one detention facility for this project: the Huron County Jail. The jail and sheriff contact pages list the Shady Lane Drive law-enforcement campus for sheriff and jail matters. Court records are downtown, so do not use the court address for jail visits or custody questions.
Huron County Jail

Norwalk, OH 44857
Jail and visitation: 419-668-1996
Sheriff main line: 419-668-6912

Use the jail contact for custody and visit questions. Use the sheriff Civil Office route for sheriff-held records that are not on the roster. Use the court that appears on the roster when the question is about formal charges, filings, or verified docket entries.
Huron County Booking Path
Huron County does not publish a detailed public booking manual, so the local booking path must be read from the roster, the sheriff jail page, and Ohio jail standards. A typical local arrest moves from arrest by a deputy or city police officer to transport to the Huron County Jail, intake identification, property handling, security screening, a booking photograph, fingerprinting or identity checks, medical or mental-health screening, classification, and housing assignment. Classification means the jail decides custody level, housing needs, and program or visit limits under written standards.
The public roster then shows selected parts of that process. It can show book date, arresting agency, charges, court, disposition, bail, next court date, and release date. It does not mean every intake note, medical fact, address, housing decision, or security item is public. If a person was just arrested and does not appear, the roster timestamp should be checked first, then the jail line should be used.
For the court side after booking, see court records after a Huron County jail arrest. Court portals may lag, and verified court information has to come from the clerk or court office.
Huron County Jail Visits
The Huron County Jail uses video visitation instead of traditional in-person visitation. The sheriff page states that registered visitors must be adults, and visitors ages 10 to 18 must be registered under and visit with a parent or guardian. Visits can be scheduled through ICSolutions online or from the public lobby kiosk during business hours. The jail may cancel or end a visit if rules are not met.

The sheriff visitation page is the controlling local source for schedule details, so confirm visit rules before setting up travel or remote video time.
| Visit Type | Schedule | Length and Limits | Cost or Registration |
|---|---|---|---|
| On-site video visit | Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., excluding holidays | One 20-minute visit once a week for unrestricted inmates | One free weekly on-site visit; schedule through ICSolutions or the lobby kiosk |
| Off-site video visit | Sunday-Saturday, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. | Up to ten 20-minute off-site visits as scheduled | Fee applies; computer or mobile device with camera may be used |
| Restricted-status visit | No separate public schedule found | One weekly immediate-family visit if permitted | Confirm with the jail before scheduling |
| Lobby scheduling kiosk | Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., excluding holidays | Scheduling access, not the visit itself | Public lobby registration computer or kiosk |
Mail, Money, and Visits
The official Huron County sources reviewed did not publish a mail-address format sheet, commissary vendor, money-deposit fee table, phone-rate page, or tablet program. That gap is important because jail mail and deposit rules change, and third-party directory claims may be stale. Before mailing funds, sending books or photos, or assuming a deposit vendor, call the Huron County Jail at 419-668-1996 and confirm the approved method, inmate identifiers, and prohibited items.
Note: Confirm custody status with the jail before scheduling a visit, mailing funds, or relying on an old roster entry.
